Go to https://wspcdominicanrepublicmissiontrip.wordpress.com/ and see what is already there! You can get notifications when updates are posted.

Meet the Team! Each of our team along with their thoughts about the trip is profiled in a document available in the Welcome Center. It’s also available on our website and has been in our weekly Enews.

SUMMER CLASSES @ 10:40am in Howell Auditorium

Today, July 9 – ORIGIN: Unlocking the Mystery of Life, a video produced by Illustra Media. We have previously seen three of their amazing films depicting intelligent design: Metamorphosis: the Beauty and Design of Butterflies, Flight: the Genius of Birds and most recently Living Waters: Intelligent Design in the Oceans of the Earth. With spectacular computer animation and cutting-edge research, ORIGIN examines a question that has baffled science for centuries: How did life on earth begin?

July 16 – Dr. Andy and Dorciane Toth, who have served in Mexico for almost 50 years, will update us on their work. Dorciane grew up at West Side. They now live in Texas but go back to the High Sierras in Mexico, at great risk, several times a year to train pastors and help establish churches among the Pame Indians.

July 23 – Dr. Tim and Muriel Teusink, who do medical training for doctors in developing countries and teach at medical conferences. Dr. Teusink is an expert on HIV/AIDS and HIV/AIDS prevention.

July 30 – Our Dominican Republic Team of young people, just back from their mission trip working with Kids Alive and the Trautweins.

SUMMER BUILDING CLOSURES

During the summer months, fewer activities happen in the evenings on church premises. Stewardship and Finance elders have therefore approved closing the church building at 5:30pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings during July and August. Any events on those days (unless already scheduled) will require a minimum of one week’s notice and approval before they can be accommodated. Whenever possible, please try to schedule evening meetings on Wednesdays those months. Approved events are: Choir on 7/13 and 8/24 (Thursdays); Session on 7/11, Session on 7/25 and Deacons on 8/22 (Tuesdays). Thank you for your consideration as we try to conserve the church resources.
