August 19 Service Day @ Highland Park Elementary!
Sign-Up Today! Want that T-shirt? Lee Sundquist will be outside the Welcome Center today to answer questions and take down your name as a volunteer for our Service Day on Saturday, August 19 (9am – 1pm) at Highland Park Elementary (1012 SW Trenton Street). The day starts at 8:15am with donuts, coffee and prayer at Chief Sealth International High School parking lot (but you can go straight to Highland Park). We officiallystart working at 9am. Lunch will be provided.
Lots of hands will make our tasks at Highland Park, a truly disadvantaged school, go quickly. Plus, it makes the day more fun! Sign up your friends!
Welcome Center Staffing
A person is needed to be in the Welcome Center on Wednesdays from 9:00am until 12:30pm. Training will be provided. Please contact Lilliana Ryckman, 206-932-9305.
Return Library Books
Few have been returned and a number of our titles still missing! Please take a look around your house and if you find one, bring it in.
VBS Shirts Are Still Outstanding
We are missing 40 of the blue VBS staff shirts! That makes a big dent in our inventory. Please return your clean shirt to the Welcome Center or church office. Thanks!
West Side deeply appreciates the faithfulness of our members in response to our financial condition. While we continue to monitor the situation, and will provide an update next week, we are humbled by your response and want to thank you for your commitment to our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Today – Rick and Lorena Wood. Rick is the editor of Mission Frontiers, the magazine of Frontier Ventures, formerly the US Center for World Mission. Lorena has a ministry with Muslim women. Rick is a son of West Side. They have started several house churches in their home in Colorado Springs.

Thirty-seven detainees from 8 countries lead 17 Bible studies there in the detention center. Last year 440 men and women were baptized and 1540 accepted Christ.
August 20 – Bruce and Christy Graham. We haven’t seen them in four years! Bruce is the Senior Associate Director of Frontier Ventures in Pasadena. Christy heads the Personnel Office, overseeing 100+ staff.
