Announcements for Sunday, Oct. 8

NEW: CAREGIVER PRAYER MINISTRY

Caregiving can be exhausting and overwhelming; caregivers can harbor internal anger, become socially withdrawn, or suffer from anxiety or depression. If you feel the Lord calling you to help, be on our team and support a caregiver with daily prayer for a year. Contact Marilyn Fleming, RN, parish nurse mfleming@quidnunc.net.

SUPPORT FOSTER KIDS DURING STRESSFUL TIMES

Union Gospel Mission, our long-time partner, has requested support for Office Moms & Dads (OMD, www.officemomsanddads.com). OMD’s volunteers sit with, talk to, and entertain foster kids during the day while their caseworkers find them homes. Want to help? Times are flexible to meet your schedule. A background check and 1.5 hours of training are required. Training is Wednesday, October 18, 10-11:30am. Contact Janine Krebs (WestSeattleOMD@gmail.com).

WOMEN’S CIRCLES

Circle Lydia will meet in the home of Madeline May, 2226 45th Ave SW, on Thursday, October 12 at 10:30am. Please note change of day and time! Info? Contact Madeline in the church office.

Circle Mary will continue to meet at Vicky Alspaugh’s (Brookdale Heights) starting Wednesday, October 11 at 10:00am.

WEST SIDE SENIOR FELLOWSHIP

The pot-luck dinner is Saturday, October 21, at 6:00pm in Howell Auditorium. Rev. Ron Rice will present a visual and verbal description of an African trip entitled “The Sights & Animals of South Africa, Lesotho & Swaziland.” All seniors are welcome! Call Sally Porter to RSVP and discuss food items.

MOPS SUBSTITUTE HELPERS

Thank you all for volunteering! We now have enough to accommodate our list of Moms and their children. We still would like more substitute helpers to “fill in” when necessary. Contact Sally Porter.
