1st Sunday of Advent:

December 3, Music of Christmas, 10am
Join us as the West Side Choir presents a Christmas musical offering: Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus.

December 6, Women’s Christmas Banquet, 6pm
West Side Women and Taproot Theatre: A Special Christmas Combo. Starting with dinner at 6:00pm, the evening culminates with a one hour performance by Taproot Theatre actors .

December 9, Special People Christmas Luncheon & Program, 12pm

2nd Sunday of Advent:

December 10, Message of Christmas, 10am
Included in our Sunday worship, “The Least of These,” a play performed by West Side children and youth, tells the story of a journey during which three young people experience a Christmas miracle.

December 15, Senior Fellowship Christmas Party, 6pm
Christmas Party for all seniors, single or married, at the home of Ron and Sharon Rice. Bring a wrapped white elephant gift and a tray of hors d’oeuvres or a dessert. Soup and beverage will be supplied. Call Sharon 206-932-6129 for reservations.

3rd Sunday of Advent:

December 17, Lessons of Christmas, Communion, 10am
The story of Christmas is told from the manger cradle to the cross through scripture readings, carol singing, special music, and devotional stories told by members of the congregation.

December 17, Christmas Open House, 4-6pm
Join us to celebrate the Christmas season and share the Good News through a community open house at West Side. Invite family, friends and neighbors for light refreshments, festive music and Christmas carols as our church family connects with those around us.

December 20, Middle School Ice Skating and Christmas Party, 2-9pm

December 21, High School Christmas Party at Devon Porter’s, 6pm

December 21, Service of the Longest Night, 7pm
The Service of the Longest Night is a worship service for those carrying heavy burdens this season and the people who wish to pray for them. Those gathered for this service will have the opportunity to pray, light candles, sing, take communion, or simply sit in silence and await the light of Christ coming into the world at Christmas. (Childcare will be available.)

4th Sunday of Advent:

December 24, Christmas Eve, 10am, 4pm, 11pm
West Side worship services celebrate God’s gift of good news for all people wrapped in the miracle of Christ’s birth. Service are family-friendly including the youngest among us. (Nursery care at 10am service only.)

10am | Family Service a traditional family worship service filled with all the things you love most about the Christmas: children, students, family home from far flung places, together celebrating the joy of being together worshipping God.

4pm | Nativity Service A Service of the Nativity especially welcoming to families with young children. This interactive service starts with an empty stable and builds, through story-telling, music, prayer, and Scripture reading, into a lively scene of adoration around Jesus’ manger. Cookies and cider for all afterwards.

11pm | Communion Service A Contemplative Service to welcome the Christ Child with traditional carols and the sacrament of communion. We conclude by candle-light, joining our voices and our hearts in the singing of Silent Night, Holy Night.
