LIVE THE NEW YEAR IN JOY!
The coming of Jesus, our Messiah, and our hope in His redemptive work produces the truest of all joy. We pray that all gathered today in worship of the living God experience that joy, not only in 2018 but for a lifetime! Whether you are a mature Christian, new to your faith in the living God, or still just seeking answers, we are delighted you are here. You are invited to any of our activities, classes and fellowship gatherings. We look forward to meeting you!
Today following the service we continue the hospitality of the Lord’s Table with a Fellowship Meal in Howell Auditorium. Everyone is invited to join in breaking bread and enjoying fellowship with our church family. A Children’s Corner play area will offer a fun spot for kids as well!
Those in Family Districts 7 and 12 are cordially invited to lunch hosted by your Deacons on Sunday, January 14 in Howell Auditorium following after-service fellowship. Please let your Deacon know if you have special dietary needs.

BEAUTIFY OUR SANCTUARY
Using the flowers God created in our worship services both honors and thanks Him for His gifts to us. No need to spend lots of cash – use foliage and flowers from your yard, a plant on sale at Costco, etc.! Sign up for a date special to you on the 2018 Flower Calendar in the front hall.
WEST SIDE SENIOR FELLOWSHIP
Save the date – Saturday, January 20, 6:00pm for our next gathering. More info to follow.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS ARTIST NEEDED
Could you create a visual showing Jesus being condemned by the Sanhedrin for our Lenten Stations of the Cross project? A meeting will take place on January 21, 11:15-12:30pm, for us to touch base about what we are doing. Questions? Contact Bonnie Bennedsen email@example.com.
LOST & FOUND
What Was Lost……We have found a wide array of “left-behind stuff” over the past several months. Check on the table outside of Howell to see if any of it is yours and get it back to its rightful home!
ANGEL TREE THANKS
With your gifts, West Side made 20 children (age 1–16) who have an incarcerated parent a little happier this Christmas. What a joy it was to see the smiling faces of the families! Extra food, toys and games were given to one family who seemed in particularly dire circumstances. Thank you all for your generosity – and thank Mike Morishima and Sandra Hiramatsu for all of their work in organizing the Angel Tree project this year.
2018 TITHE ENVELOPES
Tithe Envelopes are available to be picked up today on tables across from the elevator. If you have not used envelopes and would like to, please note it on the back of your attendance card or notify the office. Please discard any leftover 2017 envelopes as the numbers change each year.
WEST SIDE FINANCIAL UPDATES
Christmas Mission Needs Met – God has blessed West Side once again! We received $12,985 from the Christmas offering, perfectly covering the $12,670 of proposed mission projects. Thank you for your generosity. The WSPC Mission Committee

ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES
Sunday Class Starting January 7 @ 9am
Godspeed: The Pace of Being Known (an 11 week study) – What if the future of the church depends on our ability to slow down and get to know people? Godspeed looks at what happens when a Seattle city boy learns about “God’s speed” in a Scotland parish. Each session has video, Scripture, meditation, and lively group discussion. An optional Study Guide is available for $13.00.
Women’s Wednesday Evening Class Starting January 10 (6:30-7:45pm)
Redeemed: a Tool for Sharing Your Story of Redemption (a study designed specifically for women) – Do you desire God use you to communicate His love to others? Sharing your story of God’s redemption is a powerful way to do it. Using Scripture stories, we’ll see God’s work in our own lives and then practice communicating that work to others. Our own stories will be a highlight of the journey together. A class workbook ($24) is needed; homework between sessions will deepen understanding. Register for the class and childcare at http://wspc.org/adult-classes/.
