Announcements for Sunday, March 25

PALM SUNDAY – March 25

The people of Israel welcomed Jesus like a king as he entered Jerusalem, hoping he would rescue them from oppression. They got so much more – a heavenly king who would save them from the eternal consequence of sin in their lives and reconcile them to their Creator. Let us all rejoice that Jesus is here with us, in our lives and in our hearts!

Pray to Make Easter Count! There are people out there who need the wonderful peace of the Gospel message! Continue to pray for their names to come to mind and the opportunity to invite them to our services.

WSPC CREATES EXCITEMENT @ SCHOOL

West Side recently bought and installed a new playground bridge at Highland Park Elementary, creating a traffic jam of students wanting to play on it every recess! The school and teachers thank us profusely and are looking forward to our next CityServe work day on August 18. Mark your calendars!

ADULT SUNDAY EDUCATION CLASSES @ 9am

Today – Stations of the Cross – Throughout history, various forms of creative expression (art, music, architecture, etc.) have been used to glorify the Lord, reflect on his creation and honor his love for his people. The Stations of the Cross are one such expression – 14 artistic depictions of things that happened to Jesus on the day he was crucified as detailed in Scripture. Hear West Side artists tell of their creative process as they contemplated how they could bring that Scripture to life for our Stations display in the chapel. Class Location: Howell Auditorium

Spring, April 8–June 24 – The Book of Romans – Paul’s letter to Roman Christians offers us some of the best theology in the Bible coupled with practical application of the Gospel to our hearts, relationships, social involvement and work. He covers things – grace, sin, spiritual gifts, suffering and contentment – that resonate with everyone, but especially those who want to grow in faith.
