May 27 the church recognizes for the only time in its calendar a person (the Triune God) rather than an event (Easter). The Trinity, working together, gave us true salvation. God the Father, in love, gave his Son to pay the price of our sin; the son Jesus willingly dies on a cross in our place; the Holy Spirit helps us to turn from our broken selves towards a life of peace and joy through belief in Jesus’ sacrificial work. May their work stir deep within us today and always.
Our Special People will be joined for lunch May 27 at 2pm in Howell Auditorium by guests from United Friends Group Homes Lincoln Park, a home under the regulation of Washington’s Developmental Disabilities Administration. Our sincere appreciation goes to our usual volunteers plus the new helpers needed to handle this larger group.
Friday, June 8, 7:00pm (Refreshments @ 6:30pm)
We will elect a new class of church officers (elders and deacons), review the annual report, and get an update from the Pastor Nominating Committee. Childcare provided. All are welcome, though only members may vote.
The Fellowship department would appreciate if attendees bring food to share for this meeting – fruit, veggies, desserts, cheese tray, etc. Thanks!

Memorial Day Retreat Prayer Requests
This weekend, students and leaders are at our annual youth Memorial Day Retreat. This year we have 75 middle and high school students and 38 leaders/staff who are experiencing Camp Firwood in Bellingham.
This year’s theme is “Go Crazy.” Our speaker, Rob Lee, ia teaching on the crazy things people do when they encounter Christ and how His influence changed the lives of people with different backgrounds.
Please remember them in your prayers:
• For students’ hearts to be ready to hear about Christ and respond.
• That leaders and staff would be open and prepared to enter the brokenness and messiness of student’s lives.
• For the spiritual, physical and emotional stamina of the staff.
• For the safety of the whole group throughout the weekend.
Preaching Today – The Reverend Ron Rice is our Parish Associate, assisting in Pastoral Care.
Assisting in Worship – Rick Boogaard is an auditor for Providence. He coordinates the Prayer Team, Communion servers, assists Special People ministry and is on the Pastor Nominating Committee.
