Introducing Kim Herbert – Children & Families Minister

West Side is proud to introduce you to our new Children & Families Minister, Kim Herbert. Kim grew up in eastern Michigan where he spent his time running, fishing, and having bonfires with friends and family. He has a BS from Grand Valley State University, where he studied Religion, Culture, and Psychology. After undergrad, Kim joined the staff of Mars Hill Bible Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he served as a Senior High Youth Pastor. In 2012 Kim moved to Seattle to attend Fuller Theological Seminary and will receive his Masters of Divinity in 2019. Kim recently served as Director of Kids and Youth at Sand Point Community United Methodist Church and joined West Side in April 2018.

Kim’s main focus as he begins his ministry with us is to become acquainted with our kids and their parents and to learn the issues that are most important to them. With coordinated effort, Kim will help them raise spiritually healthy kids and enhance God-centered families. Kim and his wife, Gabi, married in December 2017, are both avid readers and enjoy hiking, backpacking, the Seattle Sounders, LOTR (Lord Of The Rings), and late nights with good friends and good food.
