Congregational Meeting, Sunday, November 18, 11:30am – Meeting

2019 is going to be an exciting year at West Side!  We all need to hear about what is happening.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Review our 2019 Funding Guide
  • Elect members to the Church Nominating Committee – Please give serious thought and prayer in advance as we elect five individuals to represent the congregation-at-large. The Nominating Committee is responsible to search out the people God wants to lead us as elders and deacons in the new year. Those wishing to nominate someone should be sure that the nominee is an active member with good judgment who is not currently serving as an elder or a deacon, that he or she is available for meetings and home visits January – April, and they have not just served three consecutive terms on the Church Nominating Committee.
  • Elect Treasurers: Church, Missions, Children/Youth
  • Celebrate three 50 year members

Child care is provided for children up to 3 years old and videos for children 4 years and older. Please register your child with the church office by Thursday, Nov 15.

Sunday Adult Education @ 9am in Howell Auditorium

ReDiscover – The Big Story of the Old Testament.  Facilitated by Dr. Laurie Brenner, our new Senior Pastor, we explore why the story of Israel’s history, writings and prophets of the Old Testament is so indispensable to our knowledge of Jesus.

Nov. 11–Dec. 2:  Malachi: All To Him I Owe, facilitated by Josh Kutz. We have been chosen and given the privilege of being counted among God’s people, yet our lives don’t always reflect this great gift. All too often, we fall short and fail to meet our half of the bargain. Join us for a deep dive into the book of Malachi, a prophet who will challenge and convict us in our worship, our service, and our giving.

Wednesday Evenings, 11/7–12/19, 6:30–8:00pm, Chapel

The Road Back To You– Ignorance is bliss – except in self-awareness! What you don’t know about yourself can hurt you, your relationships and how you live in the world. It can also keep you in the shallows with God. Join us as we dig deep into the Enneagram, a model of the nine predominant personality types. Attendees are encouraged to order their books, The Road Back To You, online through Amazon ($23.58) and read the first two chapters before the first class.  Note: We will NOT meet November 21 or December 5.
