Pastor Nominating Committee
Katie was raised at West Side and joined in 2002. She volunteers with high school youth group activities, works and volunteers in the nursery on Sunday mornings, attends church regularly and has led worship as a Lay Leader. She also plays softball on the West Side Red Team and teaches high school math at Chief Sealth International High School.
Rick joined West Side in November 1995 and met and married his wife Shelley here. He has served as a Deacon and Elder. He has also served as Deacon Moderator, chair of Stewardship & Finance Committee and a delegate to General Assembly. He is currently the Children/Youth Treasurer and coordinates the Congregation Prayer Team and communion servers. He has been on the Church Nominating Committee several times and has assisted with Special People for about 19 years. He is an Internal Auditor for Providence Health & Services.
Jill has been a West Side member for 27 years. She has served two terms as a Deacon, three on the Nominating Committee, and was a member of the Bonehead Bible Study small group in the ‘90s. She has participated in MOPS for most of her time at WSPC and for the past nine years has served as Lead MOPS Mentor. She is a Lay Worship Leader, been an adult leader twice for the Dominican Republic trip and a Memorial Day Retreat counselor. Married to Jim and mom to Grace, Drew and Seth, she is currently working as a real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway in West Seattle.
A lifelong Seattle Presbyterian, Sid grew up at John Knox, Lake Burien and Laurelhurst Presbyterian. He started attending WSPC in late 1980’s and joined with wife Betty in November 1990. Sid has served two terms on Session, the first in 1993. He has been involved with Koinonia Men’s Prayer Breakfast continuously since 1995, is active in the church’s music program and has taught several adult classes over the years. He served on the Music Director Search Committee in 2015 and has been the communion coordinator for 24 years. Sid and Betty, married 36 years, have 3 adult children. He is self-employed as a Manufacturer’s Representative in the luxury tabletop industry.
John and his wife Kristie joined West Side shortly after moving to West Seattle in 1990. John has served on the finance/investment committee and as an usher. He has driven vans for various youth group functions (Chelan, MDR, etc.) and facilitated Sunday School classes. John has over 33 years of experience as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley. He is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor and very close to finishing a Master’s Degree in Personal Financial Planning. John and Kristie are parents to Amy and Hannah.
Josh grew up at WSPC. In 2005, he was baptized and became a confirmed member. He has been a regular attendee since moving back to Seattle in 2015 and is actively engaged with West Side youth, especially the high school students. He and his wife Jess teach high school Sunday School on Sunday mornings, and they support various youth activities including the Chelan, Fusion, and MDR retreats. Josh also leads one of the four high school Discipleship Groups. Outside of West Side, Josh is a risk analyst at T-Mobile and is an avid sports follower.
Dolores grew up attending West Side, the compromise church for her Methodist mother and Baptist father and went on a summer mission trip to Haiti during high school. She returned to West Side in 2006 after living with her husband across the country and the world and has served twice as a Deacon. She is the editor of The Good News church newsletter, helps with Memorial Receptions, Community Meals, Christmas banquets and other special events and most recently helped organize the Women’s Conference with Cynthia Heald.
Hugh and his wife Gail have been in West Seattle for four years and joined West Side after moving here. A lifelong Presbyterian (clear back to Scotland), he has been active in the church since his teens. He has served as both a Deacon and Elder and been involved with Sunday School classes. Since attending West Side, Hugh has been an usher, a communion server and a greeter. Hugh retired in 2000 from a long career in management for the BNSF Railway. He and Gail, married 49 years, have two grown daughters.
Elaine has been a West Side member for nearly 20 years. She has served as a Deacon and is currently a Registered Nurse with the Parish Nurse Ministry as well as a member of Moms of Grace small group. She has participated in Women’s Bible Study, served on the Women’s Committee and the MOPS Steering Committee and helped with VBS. Married to Craig for 32 years, she is mother to Renee and Daniel.
