The 13th annual Missions Fest Seattle, “Scatter 2018”, will be held Friday and Saturday, October 19-20 at Crossroads Bible Church in Bellevue. West Side is one of about 75 sponsoring churches of this major missions conference. Sixty-five seminars will be offered, about 70 mission organizations will have exhibits, as well as there being outstanding plenary speakers.
Kenneth Bae, famous Korean missionary from Seattle who spent 2 years in a North Korean prison will be the speaker Saturday evening at 7:00. Andrew Scott, president of Operation Mobilization USA will be speaking Friday evening. HIs new book Scatter is inspiring a new generation to scatter into the hardest, furthest and darkest places of the world to share the love of God. Other Saturday speakers include Fred Markert, a leader with Youth with a Mission and Erin Jones, Tacoma educator who came within 1 percent of winning election for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, the first black woman to run for state-wide office.
Ron Rice is in charge of the music and has arranged a large Ukrainian choir to sing Friday evening, the Matsiko World Orphan Choir on Saturday afternoon and the choir and praise team from Seattle Community Church, the largest Korean church in the area, on Saturday evening.
