Join West Side

What is Fellowship?

Fellowship is a bond that is formed between Christians who gather together to glorify God and further the ministry of Christ’s church. A church is not found in a building; it is found in its members. West Side Presbyterian Church members come from diverse backgrounds and vocations. What unites us is a shared commitment to loving and serving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Members gather for worship, fellowship, study, and service to others. Members give generously of their resources, time, and talent to strengthen our ties with one another, and serve the needs of our community and world.

Becoming a Member at West Side

West Side views membership as one step in a life-long discipleship process. Becoming a member is not so much about meeting certain requirements and having your name placed on the roll. It’s about taking up the journey of Christian discipleship with the people of this congregation. The process of becoming a member at West Side is designed to introduce you to our community and equip you to find a comfortable place to grow and to serve in our church family. Here is what this process looks like at West Side:

  1. Talk with one of our pastors.
Our pastors look forward to getting to know you, hear about your faith journey, answer your questions, and offer encouragement about finding a place to grow and serve through a small group, Bible study, or outreach. To set up a time to do so contact Madeline May
  2. Meet with a sponsor.
Our members enjoy meeting and welcoming new people into the life of our congregation. A sponsor will be arranged for you.
  3. New to the Presbyterian Church?
If so, attend Being Presbyterian, to learn about our Reformed faith traditions including Creeds, Confessions and Polity. The class is taught twice each year in the fall and the spring.
  4. Meet with the Session elders to affirm your faith in Jesus Christ and make a commitment to becoming a member of West Side.

New members join the church on Membership Sundays throughout the year. If you’re interested in joining, please email Madeline May (or call 206-935-4477) to sign-up.
