March 24–April 7 – 400 Not So Silent Years – The Old Testament ends four centuries before the time of Jesus as the Jewish people are restored (partially) to their land under the leadership of prophets Ezra, Nehemiah, and Malachi. Those 400 years set the stage for the New Testament: the Roman Empire replaced the Persian Empire and various sects developed within the Jewish religion. We will look at three aspects of this intertestamental period: Rulers, Readings, and Religion.
March 24–April 14 – Boundaries: Moving from Moses to Micah (for parents of all ages of children) – Knowing when and how to say “no” and “yes” can have a huge impact on our life and parenting. The extremes are where we get into trouble. We will dive into God’s example of setting boundaries given to the Israelites through two leaders: Moses and Micah. Large group lecture for 10-15 minutes of each class, then small groups (stage/age-defined) discussion for the remainder.
