Learning to Love God
and Lead People.

Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you are welcome here.

Here at West Side, we desire to be witnesses to our world of the redemptive, transformative truth of the gospel. This mission begins with our youth. To that end, West Side Youth seeks to be a ministry that raises up students to be the next generation of leaders who love Jesus Christ and desire to serve Him and His church. This does not happen overnight. Each and every one of the activities we do – the retreats, mission trips, conferences, service opportunities, small groups, and Bible studies – are intended to grow our youth’s passion for God, His Word, and serving His people. Come and join us in this powerful and welcoming community!

What To Expect

Fun, Friendship, & Growth

At West Side, we are committed to helping our youth become passionate followers of Jesus Christ. Whether it's through discipleship groups that help them gain a deeper understanding of God’s word, or meaningful mentor relationships that come alongside them on this journey, we strive to lay a foundation for growing closer to God.

Worship Service is for Everyone

We believe there is great power in having many different generations worshiping God together, and we want our youth to be a part of that. Youth are welcome and encouraged to join our worship service on Sunday mornings.

Getting out of the Church Walls

We think it is incredibly important to get our youth outside of our church walls and into the world. We do this in a variety of ways from retreats to service projects, all designed to grow and engage our youth in a fun way designed for them.

Memorial Day Retreat

May 23-26, 2025

MDR is an exhilarating annual retreat for middle and high school students. Kids experience engaging activities, impactful teaching, and meaningful worship.

Youth Missions

“What you’ll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world.” Acts 1:8

West Side Youth Ministry believes mission experiences are an important part of faith development, and we strive to give students a variety of opportunities to serve during their years in the youth program. We rotate our mission experiences every three years: an evangelism training conference, a domestic trip, and a cross-cultural experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Confirmation class is offered for middle school & high school students who are interested in taking their faith further. During this class, students will learn and practice using the language of the faith and see that Jesus calls them to a purpose that is bigger than themselves. The class covers the Biblical narrative, Christian theology, Presbyterian Polity, and what it means to be The Church.

The purposes of YLT are to give high school students the opportunity to:  Develop skills as a Christian leader  Utilize their talents as leaders in West Side Youth Ministry programs and activities  Be part of an intentional community of students who are serious about faith in Jesus Christ and living their faith in all areas of their lives

YLT students lead our youth ministry in spiritual growth, commitment to service and involvement in activities. YLT students take seriously the importance and responsibility of leadership. Committing to YLT is more than just attending the monthly gatherings; it is committing and contributing to West Side Youth Ministry by participating in events, serving others and working to be a Christ-Centered student.

Grow Your Faith, Make An Impact, Serve

Opportunities to serve within the church include assisting in children’s ministry, participating in worship and media teams, welcoming guests, and supporting outreach efforts. Beyond the church, engage in community service such as volunteering at shelters, organizing donation drives, and participating in overseas mission trips.

Serving provides young people with opportunities to develop leadership skills, build relationships, and grow in their faith while making a meaningful impact.
