Holy Week Bags

In March 2021 the Congregational Care Team wanted to reach out to our most isolated members and had the idea of delivering Holy Week Bags. Just coming out of lockdown during the previous year, making deliveries to members who were still not attending in-person worship meant an opportunity for some face-to-face contact and conversation, as well as an opportunity to remind them that they were not forgotten by West Side. The positive response to this outreach had the team putting together Advent Bags in November 2021 then Lent Bags and Advent Bags in 2022.

Tuesday, March 28, the Congregational Care Team will assemble 50+ Holy Week Bags for delivery between Tuesday afternoon and Saturday, April 1. More than 70 members, who continue to be more isolated than many of us, will appreciate the in-person contact from our church family. There are items in the bag to encourage their personal devotions during Holy Week but the most important aspect is the connection, in person, with brothers and sisters in Christ. We want these members to know we are thinking of them, they are not forgotten, and we want to share the love of Christ with them. If delivering a few bags, or even one bag, and making a personal connection appeals to you, please contact Karol Aronson (karol@wspc.org) for specifics.
